SUMMARY:Drop In\, Drop Out\, South Australian Adventure
DESCRIPTION:Trip Classification: Medium\nVehicle Limit: 8\nMeeting Place/Time:\nThis is a drop in\, drop out trip\, meaning you can drop into the trip at any of the below points\, and drop out again when it suits you. For those wanting to travel with us from Geelong\, we will be meeting at Ampol\, Bannockburn on Saturday 20th September\, 6.15am.\nBe prepared for a long drive\, as we’ll try and get as many kilometres under our belt as possible on this day. \nTrip Details:\nThe trip is going to be divided into three distinct parts: ranges\, desert and beach. \nBendleby Ranges\, 3-4 days\nBendleby Ranges is a private property located in the southern Flinders Ranges. It offers over 210km of 4WD tracks catering to all skill levels\, with terrain ranging from open plains to rugged mountain ranges. It has been described as one of the best four-wheel driving destinations in the Flinders Ranges. We will be base camping here\, so you are free to do as little or as much 4WDing as you desire. \nGoogs Track\, 3 days\nWe’ll travel this renowned track from north to south\, through remote desert country\, detouring to Mount Finke\, Googs Lake and Yellabinna Conservation Park\, before arriving at Ceduna. \nFowlers Bay\, 3-4 days\nThe plan here is to find a base camp\, then spend time exploring Fowlers Bay and Wahgunyah Conservation Parks\, on South Australia’s remote west coast. These will be beach\, sand dune and limestone tracks leading to lots of scenic destinations. Those wanting to take it easier might enjoy fishing or bushwalking or just relaxing at camp. \nYork Peninsula\nThis final leg will take in areas along the York Peninsula such as Point Brown\, Streaky Bay and Coffin Bay\, before heading back to Geelong. \nRequirements:\nParticipants must have the following:\n• A reliable set of recovery tracks (e.g. MaxTrax)\, if travelling the desert or beach legs.\n• Sand flag\n• Front and rear recovery points\n• Long Handled Shovel\n• Basic recovery gear\, including a snatch strap \nFor further details\, including estimated dates for dropping in or dropping out\, or to register your interest\, please contact:\n• Juanita Mountjoy on 0467 809 040\n• Matthew Mountjoy on 0400 389 230
